Grand Prix escape 2013

Caspie, his parents and maternal grandparents escaped to Tree Tops (dubbed the 'little house' by Caspie) for 3 nights.
Tree Tops
The house and the weather were only so-so but we heard the crashing of waves rather than the crashing of gears, and bird calls. Bliss.

Lots of beach play, some surfing, much reading and plenty of good grub.

"Hey! We've got a backyard"

"Come on in, Daddy. The water's fine"

"I've got a water pistol and I know how to use it"

"Just gotta assemble this chair and then I can relax"

This re-created old street scene is kinda scary

But the old loo is a relief

Heat Wave

Forty plus yesterday so what better than a sunset paddle at Half Moon Bay and a fish and chip dinner from the iconic Cerberus Cafe?
Mere wants to show her off to her German friends

Arguably the best fish and chips in the world

Mads in her new Ripcurl rashie

Today was much milder so a picnic and a play at the Children's Garden was perfect.

New Year's Evil

Today is the last day of the worst year ever. It's gotta get better tomorrow. Still 2012 was not all bad. There's been lots of good times in the last few days.

Mads & Willy are proud of their block creation

After a morning at ACMI we went to yum cha in Little Bourke Street

On Sunday morning we had a picnic at Hil's garden

In the afternoon we went to Kerford Road beach

Today it was off to Bounce Inc. for some serious trampolining

Caspie needs to refuel

What did they put in this toastie?
A festive and frantic evening meal then the early fireworks at Yarra Park finished the year. Thank goodness that's over.
