A singular absence of Lindt balls

Easter is different this year because I am not at work. By now I would usually have found a succession of little treats on my desk as each of my colleagues nicked out and snuck back with a couple of Lindt balls, a chocolate bunny, three or four little eggs or a marshmallow hot cross bun for everyone.

The gifter never identified herself but you could tell: there was Nancy's homemade, gluten free, environmentally friendly but unidentifiable present, Julie L's penchant for shopping at NQR, Susan's 95% dark chocolate nod to health and Colleen's high quality (hey, this one's edible!) imported chocky. Maybe something Dutch from Corrie or Emma. I always tried to find something unusual but I don't think anyone noticed.

The only hot cross buns I've had this year are those I've  bought myself. No Easter morning tea in the staff room, no raffle tickets or requests to donate something to the hamper for the children's hospital.

Worst of all, nowhere to wear my bunny ears.

UPDATE! 28 March

Just found a yummy-looking and much appreciated bunny in my handbag!
